Terms of use

FreightClass is an informational calculator. Please understand what its result does—and what requires confirmation before a shipment moves.

Purpose and scope

The site provides volume, density, and class estimates using the inputs you enter and the density scale described in the methodology. It is not a freight quote, carrier service, or licensed NMFC item database.

Your shipment inputs

You are responsible for entering accurate packaged dimensions, weight, and quantity and for checking the applicable measurement requirements. Example values are illustrative. They are not information about your shipment.

Confirmation before shipping

Confirm the current item provisions, packaging requirements, exceptions, and final classification with your carrier or the relevant licensed classification resource. A result on this site does not establish what a carrier will accept or charge.

Accuracy and updates

We aim to make the arithmetic and assumptions transparent, but the site may contain errors, outdated references, or omissions. The update date does not imply a live check of every NMFC amendment or carrier contract. Use source links to verify information relevant to a real shipment.

If an output seems incorrect, stop relying on it for that shipment and report the issue with the inputs and source supporting your concern.

Sources and intellectual property

Linked organizations retain rights in their own names and source materials. References do not imply endorsement or affiliation. This site does not reproduce NMFC item numbers or commodity listings.
